GeneClue User Agreement & Disclaimer
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using GeneClue (“the Service”), you agree to this User Agreement. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Definitions
“Personal Data” means any information you submit that is unique to you, including genetic variant data.
“Service” refers to GeneClue’s web and mobile interface, APIs, and related functionality for analyzing genetic variants.
3. Privacy & Data Use
We collect only the variant identifiers (RSIDs) you upload and the minimal metadata necessary to provide the Service.
Your Personal Data is stored securely in Firestore under your account and never shared with other users.
We will not sell, rent, or lease your Personal Data to third parties.
You may delete your account and all associated data at any time via the app settings.
4. Medical & Professional Disclaimer
GeneClue provides informational genetic interpretations only.
We are not medical professionals. The Service does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations.
Always consult a qualified healthcare provider before making any medical decisions based on genetic information.
5. No Guarantees
We strive for accuracy by sourcing from up-to-date research, but we do not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or scientific validity of any variant interpretation.
Research on genetic variants is constantly evolving; interpretations may change over time.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GeneClue and its affiliates, officers, and employees are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising out of your use of—or inability to use—the Service.
This includes, without limitation, any health outcomes, financial loss, or emotional distress resulting from reliance on the information provided.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GeneClue and its affiliates from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Service or your violation of this Agreement.
8. Changes to this Agreement
We may revise this Agreement at any time. When we do, we’ll update the “Last Updated” date at the top and notify you via email or in‐app notice. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
9. Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the state of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
